PADUWASNUWARA   KINGDOM


Paduwasnuwara  is an ancient city in the Kurunegala area which functioned as the capital of sri-lanka for a very brief period. History of paduwasnuwara goes as far back the 6th century.BC ,the time of king panduwasadewa .who is credited with building pandu wewa reservoir around 450BC which is considered the first man made great reservoir in the world.Mahawasama,the great chronicle of sri lanka, recorders that king Mahadathika Mahanaga presenting gifts to a Samanera bhikku of the pandawa vehera.In the 68th chapter king parakramabahu expanding the pandu wewa and  building a three storied palace and a stupa on the island of the pandu  wewa.According to parker, the pandu wewa had extended upto the paduwasnuwara city.

The sweetness of one bond that does not change.  It was a sunny day. Our class was right next to the wall next to the dance room. I could see a new face with a slender body and long curly hair passing by our class. Than I was reminded that Revatha sir, who used to teach dance at our scull ,had moved to another school. I subconsciously though she was a newcomer dance teacher. After the break we had a dance so we immediately ran to the dance room to see her. It was a rainy day, so she sang and showed us some poems.
